Despite the forecast the day turned out to be lovely and sunny. I was expecting to be painting lots of greys in Ireland, but as you can see the colours were fantastic.

Hook Head lighthouse is the oldest working lighthouse in the world.

I also took a plein air workshop with Jenny Aitken which was superb, and painted this seascape below.




All my paintings this week are 20 X 25cm oils on board.

Oak tree in a corn field. This tree caught my attention as we got off the coach at the 17th century Wells House. The sun had just come out and it just looked great. So this became my painting project for the morning instead of the grand manor house. Well, sometimes you have to go with your instincts…
